The Sebastian River High School Coaching Staff believes that high school football gives every athlete the opportunity to improve and can be used as an educational experience that can generate enjoyable and unforgettable moments for each student-athlete's life.


Coach Tyrone Perry who is now in his 5th season as Head Coach for the Sharks and his 29th coaching season at Sebastian River High School.  His vision in leading the program is to prepare the student-athletes for their futures in the classroom, on the field, in the community, and in life as young adults, through football.   In the past 6 years alone, SRHS has had 40 graduating seniors go on to play football at the collegiate level.

SEBASTIAN SHARKS HEAD COACH

  

Coach Perry is in his 33rd year as a coach.  Growing up as a native of Gifford, Florida, Coach Tyrone Perry attended Peru State College in Nebraska on a football scholarship where he was a 4-year-starter for the Bobcats, starting in 36-straight games as a cornerback.

 Perry led the Peru State College defense in interceptions

 in 1987 and 1988. 


As a senior, Coach Perry was voted to the 1988 NAIA Tri-State All-Conference, 1988 All-Nebraska Small College Football Team, and the 1988 Omaha World Herald Second Team. 

Perry was voted the 

Defensive Most-Valuable Player 

and Team Captain for his senior year. 

Upon graduating, Perry held three Peru State College defensive back records for most interceptions in a game (3), 

twice during his senior season 1988,

 and for most passes broken up in a season and career. 

Becoming an Assistant Coach at Peru State (RB/DB) in 1990, 

Perry was a member of the 

NAIA Division II Football National Championship Team.

Perry graduated with a

 Bachelor of Science Degree

 in Psychology in 1991. 


Moving back to the Treasure Coast,

 Coach Perry began teaching, 

and in 1993, was awarded

 Indian River County School District Teacher of the Year for Wabasso School. 


While still teaching at the Wabasso School, he was recruited to be one of Sebastian River High School’s 

original coaching staff when the high school opened in 1994, 

serving as a Defensive Back Coach 

and Track & Field Assistant Coach.  


Coach Perry step away from teaching in 1996 and became a Juvenile Probation Officer for The Florida Department Juvenile Justice, however, you could still see him roaming the sidelines

 on game days. 


In 2000, Coach Perry returned to teaching at Sebastian River High School as a Defensive Back Coach and Head Boys’ Track Coach. In 2003, Coach Perry was named Defensive Coordinator,

 and he held that title until 2012. 

Since Perry’s return to the SRHS Boy’s Track team, they have won eight district titles, one 2nd- place regional final, 

and a 3rd-place finish at the 

2017 FHSAA Track & Field Finals. 


As a former Vero Beach athlete, 

Perry was a 3-sport letterman and graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1985. He was a 2-year starter for the VBHS Football Team, and as a defensive back in football, earned All-District Team and All Conference Team for the 1984 season. Perry was also a member of the 1985 Varsity District Champion Basketball Team and a member

 of 3-straight District Champion

 Track & Field Teams (1983-1985).

When not on the field, Perry is a teacher at Sebastian River High School where he teaches Physical Education. Coach Perry has three daughters: Tyronnya (5-year old grandson, Mason), Taniya, and Tyara. Coach Perry was raised in Gifford, Florida, and is the son of Albertha Rivers (deceased) and Gene Perry.

I then coached and was the Assistant Director for 10 years at the Police Athletic League in Deland FL. I started at SRHS in April 2014 as Wide Receivers Coach 

and then moved to 

the defense side of the ball in 2015.
 

The proud parent of one, my son is a 2017 Graduate of Sebastian River High School where he played for the Sharks,

and then received a scholarship to play football at Charleston University.

Coach Harris is beginning his 5th season with Sebastian River High School and his 1st season as Offensive Coordinator, while 5th year coaching the Offensive Line. Previously, Coach Harris spent 7 years as a Head Coach for all age groups at the Sebastian Sharks Youth Football and Cheerleading Association, 

winning multiple championships. 

Robert graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in Professional Management. 

He and his wife, Nichole, have lived in Sebastian since 2002,

 and have one son, Christopher (17).

Coach Jefferson is in his 22nd season as an Assistant Football Coach at Sebastian River High School and is currently the inside linebackers coach  and the special team coordinator for the Shark Gridiron. When not on the football field, he also serves as the Head Girls Basketball Coach

and Track & Field Coach at SRHS.
 

Coach Jefferson is 1997 Sebastian River High School alum. While a student at SRHS, he was a 4-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, track & field, and weightlifting. He went on to receive a football scholarship to Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas, and finished his playing career as a scholarship football player at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee.
 

Coach Jefferson has AA Degree in Business, and in 2005, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in History with psychology minor 

from Lambuth University.

Receivers and Linebackers. 

Prior to arriving at SRHS, 

I coached football at Boone HS in Orlando and Cartersville HS in Georgia. I have been coaching for over 25 years, having started my coaching career at

 Mission Beach Middle School in San Diego, CA, in the early 90's.
 

I graduated from East Coweta HS in Sharpsburg, Georgia, in 1989, and then served in the United States Navy until 1996. Graduating with a BA from Leavell College in New Orleans in 2003, I received my Masters of Arts in Business Leadership in 2009 from Shorter University in Rome, Georgia.
 

My wife, Fawn, and I live in Vero Lake Estates with our 5 children, James, John, Aiden, Joseph, and Jenna.

This will be Coach White’s 36th year of coaching football and will be his 6th year at Sebastian River High School. Coach White will be coaching the Shark running backs for the 5th season. For the past 4 years, Coach White has been the Varsity Boy’s Lacrosse Coach here 

at Sebastian River High School. 


Prior to coming to Sebastian River High School, Coach White coached in Maine. Coach White was the Defensive Coordinator at Rumford High School for three years prior to joining the Army for three years. After his time in the service, Coach White returned to Maine where he would become the Offensive Coordinator/Running Backs coach at Mountain Valley High School for 25 seasons. During his time at Mountain Valley High School, the football team played in 8 State Championship Games, winning 4 and winning 14 Conference Championships. Coach White would move on to become the Defensive Coordinator at Fryeburg Academy for 3 seasons making the play-offs in each season before leaving Maine to come to Florida. While in Maine, Coach White coached lacrosse at Mountain Valley High School and Fryeburg Academy for 29 years. Coach White was also the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Mountain Valley High School for 4 years where he was voted “Coach of the Year” twice. He also served as the JV Basketball Coach for 9 seasons at Mountain Valley, Fryeburg Academy, and Levitt Area High School. 


Coach White received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2001. He currently teaches Physical Education at Sebastian Charter Junior High School. He and his lovely wife, Heather, have 6 children, 8 grandchildren, and a precious cat named Mischief.7

Coach John Stranzin is in his 5th year working with SRHS Shark Football program, helping with team meals and character growth. This year he will also be  working with JV Offensive Linemen. He has been a youth pastor at a local church since 2004. Coach John is married to Ashley. Their twin girls just turned 19

Coach Andre Pound is beginning his 2nd season with Sebastian River High School as the defensive line coach. Andre is a true-blue Shark, graduating from Sebastian River High School in 2008. While playing Shark Football, he earned a Division 1 scholarship to play football for the Panthers at Florida International University. He spent 5 years at FIU and was a member of the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Championship Team that went on to win the Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl defeating Toledo 32-32 ; the first team in school history to win a national championship and garner 

a post-season bowl game victory. 

Coach Pound graduated from FIU with a degree in Recreation and Sports Management with a minor in business. 

He is a lifetime Vero Beach resident and has 2 children;  a son, Kaiden Pound (7), and daughter, Kali Pound (5).

in Athletic Training. 

After college, Ms. Monroe worked as the primary athletic trainer at Palatka High School for over one year before moving to St. Augustine to work in an outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine clinic. Jordan has spent the last 6 years with Atlas Physical Therapy providing outreach coverage to Nease High School 

in Athletic Training. 

After college, Ms. Monroe worked as the primary athletic trainer at Palatka High School for over one year before moving to St. Augustine to work in an outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine clinic. Jordan has spent the last 6 years with Atlas Physical Therapy providing outreach coverage to Nease High School as well as local middle and elementary school sports associations. In conjunction with school coverage, she worked in the clinical setting treating a wide array of orthopedic and sport related injuries and comes equipped with a strong background in preventative and rehabilitative sports medicine. 

When she's not in the training room or on the field, Jordan can usually be found enjoying the outdoors with her dogs.
